The Crime Prevention team was again on foot in the Kawana Waters today, speaking to members of the public about household and personal safety.

Officers took the time to illustrate simple but effective tips to safe guard your home, which was well received by home owners.

Residents were educated on crime trends, and learnt that  home security needs to be thought about all day not just at nighttime.

One resident even has fitted a fingerprint recognition door lock. The resident did not like carrying keys and identified that he needed to lock the front door. This technology always makes sure the door is well secured.

Police want to remind the public that majority of unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and unlawful entry into homes are due to opportunist thieves. By removing valuables from plain site, it removes the temptation.

Pleased be vigilant, lock your car and lock your home.

Stay safe and don't be a soft target!
