Two men have been charged with attempted murder following the alleged shooting of a man in the carpark of a Currimundi shopping centre on October 19.

On Wednesday, with the assistance of Victoria Police, a search warrant was executed on a residence in Saint Albans in relation to the incident and two men, aged 56 and 26, were taken into custody.

It will be alleged on October 19 an altercation occurred in the carpark of Currimundi Marketplace between three men.

Two men were then seen leaving the carpark in a sedan.

A short time later a 45-year-old man presented to a Battery Hill medical centre with a gunshot wound to the abdomen before being transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The two men were extradited from Melbourne today and have since returned to Queensland with detectives from the Sunshine Coast District Criminal Investigation Branch.

The men, both from Greenbank, have been charged with attempt to murder (serious organised crime), armed robbery in company with wounding (serious organised crime) and attempted robbery.

They are due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow (October 26).
