The Sunshine Coast District Crime Prevention Unit and the Protective Services Team at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital spent the morning completing a ‘Lock it or Lose it’ activity at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

With over 1000 car parks it is important to remind visitors and employees to remain vigilant about securing their vehicles and removing valuables.

Volunteers in Policing inspected over 600 vehicle checks and were happy to find that many motorists had undertaken the simple precaution of locking their vehicles and removing valuables.

A small number of vehicles were found to be unsecured or to have valuables left in them – valuables included navigation devices, laptops, keys and personal documents.

Many thefts from motor vehicles are due to unlocked vehicles and police strongly urge motorists to ensure that there vehicles are left secured and that all valuables are removed.

If you have information for police, contact Policelink on 131 444 or provide information using the online form 24hrs per day.

You can report information about crime anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a registered charity and community volunteer organisation, by calling 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersqld.com.au 24hrs per day.
