The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of Caloundra Tourism, is introducing a progressive professional development program to the Caloundra region this year which will vastly improve the regions service industry.

The Welcome to Caloundra Professional Development program aims to revitalise the service culture of front line staff and build a network of trained ambassadors who are knowledgeable about their region and are committed to providing a quality service.

The program has been designed to be completed via either a 90-minute e-learning course or through facilitated group lessons, aimed at Kawana and Caloundra businesses.

Caloundra business owner and long-time Caloundra resident, Blase Grinner, has been selected to co-ordinate the project.

Blase and his partner Melinda Bingley are the owners, and operators, of the new adventure and tour guide business Experientia on the Sunshine Coast. Experientia is a rebrand from Melinda’s original business M.A.B personal training and adventures which has been based out of Caloundra for the past 10 years.

Running a weekly local dads’ meet up group at Moffat Beach and participating as a sub-committee member for the Caloundra Tourism body for the past six months, the devout Caloundra local is an extremely active member of the community.

Blase believes that his local knowledge and community experiences have more than prepared him for the position.

“My past journeys in life have allowed me to be in the position to upskill Caloundra’s professional development.” Blase said.

"My motto is collaboration creates community, so I am looking forward to working closely with everyone over the next year to make this a reality. Caloundra is such a special place and this program will lift the customer experience to an exceptional level.”

“The Welcome to Caloundra Program will offer all front of house employees the opportunity to upskill, to not only benefit their own businesses, but the entire Caloundra Community as a whole.”

This progressive professional development initiative will mirror the successful ‘Welcome to Noosa’ program that has been running since early 2013 by Tourism Noosa

The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce secured project funding from the Aura Community Grants program in late 2017.
