Winners announced at 2019 Sunshine Coast Business Awards

The winners of the 2019 Sunshine Coast Business Awards have been announced at a gala celebration attended by 850 guests at the Convention Centre at Novotel Twin Waters Resort.

The winners were selected from over 137 finalists and received awards for 16 business categories, Business of the Year and the Hall of Fame.

Sunshine Coast Business Awards Chair, Jennifer Swaine congratulated all of the finalists and winners for their outstanding business leadership across the region.

“These business people and their teams are helping to put the Sunshine Coast on the world stage and it is inspiring to see so many taking the time to undergo the rigorous processes of nominating
and judging for the Business Awards,” she said.

“Every single organisation that has participated should be very proud of their contribution to our thriving economy and culture of having a go.”

Celebrating their 25th year, the SCBA continue to grow year on year, attracting some of the regions highest profile businesses all vying to be crowned the Outstanding Business of the Year.

“The longest established Awards in the region have broken every record there is, making it a landmark year in every way – our volunteer judges have worked tirelessly to interview and select a wide range of worthy business champions and I want to thank them for doing a great, but very tough job,” Jennifer said.

CEO of Visit Sunshine Coast Simon Latchford said the double-win of the Awards Gala event directly following the 2019 Queensland Tourism Awards held locally last night is a coup for our region and another chance to shine the spotlight on these finalists and winners.

“It’s enabled significant recognition of the Sunshine Coast’s industry leadership, growth and increasingly global profile amongst our State and national leaders who are visiting and experiencing our dynamic region first-hand,” he said.

The highest scoring business across all categories was named Business of the Year and this year it was Noosa Beach House Peter Kuruvita.

Just some of the category winners included Murphy Builders for the Building & Construction category (large) Atlas Multisports for the Festivals and Events category (small); Concept Laboratories for Manufacturing (Large); COYO for Food & Agribusiness (Large); Travis Schultz Law for Professional Services (large); Food and Agribusiness Network for Social Enterprise (small); Kawana Waters State College for Education and Training (large); and Jetts Fitness for Health & Wellness (large).

Helimods were inducted into the Hall of Fame this year after winning their category in three consecutive years.
