I Remember when.

Recently we all had this crystal moment when we realised that time had passed and we didn't really notice it. Like most of these office conversations (we are sure the office is bugged), other people you meet also will make comment about what we just happened to be talking about... It could be that times are tough and an awful lot of disasters have occurred, so people like to remember not so much bad stuff was not happening maybe?

When this picture above was taken (our daughter Caitlin playing in the sand on Sunrise Beach), my dad and I were only starting MSC (mysunshinecoast.com.au) and Cait was only in grade 1, now, we are looking at a stressed out teenager in grade 12 freaking about getting a good enough OP this year to get into Uni? Scary! Get's you thinking... Below are just a few we had in the office here...

Remember when you used to pay tolls on the Motorway, and the protests LOL? Remember when you didn't have to re-mortgage your home to pay for water & electricity? Remember when Noosa was not considered toffee-nosed by the rest of the Coast (DOH! That hasn't changed LOL!). Remember when the 'Big Top' was the biggest shopping joint on the Coast? Remember when it was hard to find commercial space to rent? Remember when the Cowboys & Titans started? (Had to toss that one in just to remind us all that we still don't have any national teams of any sort here, even though the population warrants it LOL). Remember when we had more caravan parks? Remember when we had angle parking in Noosa Junction and you could easily get a park in Mooloolaba? This list goes on once you start. Read the rest of this editorial...
