Ladies are the Winners!
Congratulations to our Macbeth Winners! Lyn Moes was the winner of the Lake Kawana Community Centre, and Kylie Everitt was the winner of the Noosa Arts Theatre tickets. Congratulations to both ladies and we are sure that you will thoroughly enjoy those performances. More competitions to be announced as always in future 'Coast News' issues and the next one being our 50th issue could be 'special'...

The Editors Desk!
"Neurotic Noely, It can happen to all of us..."
I admit to being one of those people who when busy and stressed in a shopping centre can look around me at others behaviour and be mentally terribly judgmental at times. The screaming child, the pushy woman at the register line etc can really make me wonder about peoples behaviour. Unfortunately I had my own reality check last week and it was in pretty bad form :(

Like most people, some periods of life are more stressful then others, we have been going through our own at the moment, workwise, massive launch of our real estate area onsite, heaps of new business, events & community information flooding in, I can make coffee waiting for morning email to download with the sheer amount. BUT! The biggest addition to this stress is our daughters imminent departure, and organisation for the big Italian Trip. When first approached, 3 weeks on a school trip to Italy seemed like a wonderful 'Life Experience' for our 12 year old daughter. With departure only 24 hours away now, I think I am way more grey then I was this time last year LOL! Sweating every little thing, forgetting to buy a thank you card for the host parents, you name it, all those thousands of small things can now reduce me to a neurotic mess of stress.

Harking back to the beginning, my most shameful moment was having a problem when the ATM malfunctioned and did not spit out that final payment for the trip. Well, if that has ever happened to you before, I am sure you will know where I am going here. The Bank was NOT helpful, they outsource their ATM's, (both the bank & the outsourcing company will keep for another day as that is a totally different issue that should, and will be, addressed), though the man who did speak to us was as helpful and kind as he could be in the circumstances (thank you Matthew). The last time I cried would have been years ago when my Nan died. In the middle of the bank during this 'crisis', I bawled like a baby, in front of all customers, people passing by could probably see me, and my husband was looking at me like I had two heads. Friends hear the story and we all laugh, NOW, though at the time I have no idea what came over me, I just totally 'lost the plot'.

Never again, will I look at another's behaviour in public and judge it adversely. You can never know what other people are going through and often reactions (or over-reactions) to situations may not be a true reflection of the situation at hand, as I am well and truly aware of now. I am sure I will be a stressing until my daughter is safely home next month, so to all of you people out there who I have ever thought, 'get over it', please accept my apology now, and to my friends and family who continue to put up with me, thankyou :)

Let's Face It!  My stress is nothing compared to the poor people in Far North Queensland at the moment, thanks to Larry, so spare a thought for them and if you can spare any cash, call 1800 150 411.

Best Wishes, Noely, Community Site Co-ordinator
